The history of UIB goes back to 1987 when it was founded arising from a management buy-out from a major broker.

The founding directors had a working relationship since the 1970s, many of whom are still actively involved with UIB, providing continuity and a depth of knowledge; which is seldom seen in the insurance business today.

UIB is represented on the board of MACS-UIB Insurance Brokers Pte Ltd by Dr Mounir Kabban, President of UIB Holdings (UK) Ltd and Mr David Trezies as Alternate Director.

UIB is truly international, with expertise in all major insurance classes, employing over 300 people of 20 nationalities and fluent in 16 languages.

UIB's main core insurance businesses are Energy, Aviation and Aerospace, Construction and Engineering, Marine- Cargo/Hull/P & L, Political and Trade Credit Risk business.
